You should have seen this place before Annie Lööf got here. Odd was away, meaning I was left alone with two kids in a house of chaos. I still hadn’t showered and the kids were still gooey and sticky from breakfast. And I had two hours to get ready. To some people that may sound like a lot of time, but it’s not. It’s nearly enough. Then everything went wrong: I dropped a pack of baby formula on the floor and forgot to lock the door and the baby gate before I got into the shower, so Gillis ran out of the bathroom in the middle of everything and of course I had to run after him. Then he refused to get dressed and saying ”Gillis, we’ve got a political party leader coming through the door soon. Mom doesn’t want us both naked then so she can tell what a mess this family really is” just doesn’t get to him.

Instead I tried ”Gillis, if you want chocolate you have to get dressed now!”

Did it work? Oh yes.

Halloumi salad (the cheese still in the pan) with parmesan- and olive bread. I wasn’t too sure about the security police. Would Annie bring any with her and in that case, would they stay to eat? Would the police sit with us in that case or should I make arrangements on the kitchen island? Should I send her a text and ask or is that just stupid? A thousand questions. But it all worked out.

Our babies fell asleep. It was such a cozy and fun lunch. Her daughter Ester is amongst the cutest I’ve ever seen. Sally felt like a giant in comparison. We talked about giving birth (what women doesn’t when you’re both mothers of a tiny one each), the children’s health centre, sleepless nights, mom-groups, breast-feeding in the Riksdag and about everything going on in Sweden and the world right now. Everything between heaven and earth in other words.
