”Spottarna i taket?” Hur högt ska handfaten i badrummet sitta?”. Här tappar man mig.

I’m now certain about one thing: I never got into Bride-zilla mode, nor did I become preg-zilla or house-zilla. I’m obviously not that much of a control freak as I onces thought. Or have I ever defined myself as one? I’ve always been good at delegation, ever since I started my first company as a teenager. The reason I don’t get caught up in minor details is probably because I usually have so much going on already (focusing on details too would be impossible in terms of time), but also because they don’t interest me. I think that’s the core of a -zilla, the need to control every little thing.

(Me in the kitchen!)

At first, details can be fun. How to theme invitations, what roses to choose for the bouquet, or as now during the renovation, what taps to go for in the kitchen. But then comes detail-overload. ”What type of switch would you like?” ”The spotlights in the ceiling?” ”At what height would you like the sinks installed in the bathroom?”. That’s where I space out. I couldn’t care less. I don’t see details. I can have crooked haning paintings on my walls without noticing (good thing all of you can help me out with that!) and the socks I’m wearing are most often from two different pairs. I just don’t see what’s important about details.

(Having a little test-fry)But if you’re not a detail-person yourself, you have to find others to complete you: Johanna was the coordinator of our wedding, a stylist helps me find what to wear, Ida is in charge of the house interior, Hannah manages product details at Löwengrip Care & Color and Hanna designs at Flattered. This shows that being more of a vision-doer than detail-doer doesn’t equal disaster. When I first met Odd and he understood that I basically outsource my life, he first thought I was lazy.

But it’s not about laziness – it’s about doing what you do best. And if you can provide other people with jobs this way, you’re creating a win win situation! Can you imagine what would happen if I tried doing everything myself? My gosh, nothing would get done and I’d be burned out in no time.
